INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR NEW PUPPY
Congratulations on your new baby. Your new puppy has special needs to assure the health and happiness of your new family member. I have listed a few suggestions to make life more exciting for your new family member for many years.
Feeding your puppy properly is very important, the following being from years of experience raising puppies and adult poodles. People have many ideals on what and when to feed them. Below is what our 30 years have taught us. Feeding:Until reaches age of at least six months: feed as follows: 1. (Eubanuba Puppy small bits)
Eukanuba Puppy Dry puppy food in our opinion IS THE BEST. Do not be fooled by advertisements. This is what we have raised your puppy on, Any change at this young age could cause serious health problems, no puppy should have his diet changed from what he has been feeding on, this could cause him to stop eating properly, Not changing his diet at this young age is very important and if they do not follow this advice it could result in health problems. This is very important . . .
2. Always leave a bowl of dry food (Eukanuba Puppy small bits) with him to eat, he will not over eat but will only eat when hungry.
3. Always leave a bowl of fresh water at his disposal.4. For the first two or three weeks you may find it necessary to put the (Eukanuba puppy food) in a little glass or bowl, adding a small amount of warm water, milk, or cream to soften it before feeding, how long this is necessary depends on your puppy when he can eat without doing so. Do not use much milk or cream it will make their stool too soft5. We found if given a special treat before putting to bed at night is also helpful. What we recommend and what your puppy is accusation to. Use Iams canned dog food one tables’ spoon adding ½ jar of chicken meat, Gerber baby food and 1/2 teaspoon of Karo White Syrup adding a little milk or cream warmed in a microwave and served. We believe this is a big booster for the puppy. you can leave out the karo if stool is too soft
6. Again only Eukanuba puppy small bits dry food and then at six month’s move onto the next level of Eukanuba food this food is more expensive. Nevertheless he will eat so little it is not really expensive. Remember no grocery store dog food. We have raised him on Eukanbu food do not change for the reasons I have stated above.
Sleeping Quarters:Having a small cage with a few small puppy toys is best, while you are away from home and at night. This gives them a place to call their own, and will keep them safe from harm, they will get used to it very quickly. Your puppy is used to being left in a cage at night and should not be a problem. This also keeps them out of things while you are away or asleep. Good Ideal!
Fenced yards:Every puppy should have a fenced yard to play in. If fencing not allowed or your family lives in an apartment, arrange to take your puppy for a walk daily on a leash for exercise, you both need the exercise! This will give you both the needed exercise and will be enjoyable for both of you. If fencing is not allowed and you have a yard the Invisible fences are the way to go. Training:Take your puppy to an obedience class, it only takes about one hour per week and you will not believe the rewards received by you both. Vaccinations:Make sure to take your puppy to the veterinarian and complete HIS/HER shots, and then set up a yearly program to keep his/her shot’s current . . Fleas:We also advise that you put your puppy on a good flea program (front line) good product available from your Veterinarian. Also, good ideal to spray your yard for fleas in early spring and mid August.
Parasites:Have your puppy checked for parasites as often as recommended by your veterinarian, good ideal to have your puppy on a good heart pill . . . Neutered or Spaded:Unless your plan is to breed your puppy have he neutered at approx six months of age. Following your veterinarians advice. Our Veterinarian has advised Wee Expressions that the following Vaccination Schedule Should be maintained for New Puppies Vaccinate your Puppy a Combination Shot without Leptospirosis which Protects against canine distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. At 7 weeks if puppy leaving breeder at 8 weeks And at 6 weeks if leaving breeder early Our Veterinarian Recommends That you follow up with a Da2PP Vaccine 1 month after the first shot and then another 1 month later and that these 2 are all that is required. Our Veterinarian Recommends That You Vaccinate your Puppy for Rabies at 6 months Not before ----------------------------------------------------- Our Veterinarian Recommends That you worm your Puppies with Nemex2 starting at 2 weeks of age and continue with the worming's every 2 weeks until they are 12 weeks of age then monthly until puppy is 6 months old Thereafter, use a Heartworm preventive medication once a month that is also effective against hookworms and roundworms Keep your Puppy Healthy Remember Eukanuba Puppy small bits only.
